Spring whites and baroque pearls - Styled studio session with Rosie Fawehimi

Inspiration
This shoot was inspired by a palette of spring whites and soft neutrals, elevated with freshwater baroque pearls and subtle gold jewellery accents.
The intention was to create a jewellery-focused editorial that is, cohesive, simple and timeless.
My Studio
For smaller shoots — intimate brand sessions and portrait styled shoots like this one — I work from my coastal home studio in Shoreham by Sea West Sussex. No studio hire costs, no rushing between locations or logistics to worry about — a relaxed personal space with beautiful natural light and plenty of time to move through looks at our own pace.
Styling
The styling centred around a mix of white and cream tones, acting as a minimal canvas for statement freshwater baroque pearls and delicate gold jewellery.
Each piece was chosen to bring interest without overpowering — textured, sculptural pearls paired with understated gold elements to create balance. The result is a look that feels elevated yet effortless and minimal.
The overall approach was intentional restraint — allowing the jewellery to draw the eye while maintaining a soft, editorial feel throughout.
Natural Light
We were blessed with natural light throughout the day, which is always my preference when it is available. Natural light brings a softness to images that is hard to replicate — gentle shadows, warmth to the skin — and on a shoot like this, where the whole feeling is meant to be fresh and effortless, it made complete sense to lean into it. This shoot really benefited from it.

Hair & Makeup
Hair and makeup were kept clean and contemporary, with slicked-back styling that framed the face and ensured the focus remained on the jewellery.
The Model
Rosie Fawehimi is represented by MOT Models and I have been photographing her for over 14 years — which is a long time in anyone's book, and something I genuinely treasure. Over the years we have worked together on brand shoots, personal portraits, model portfolio updates and one of my favourite projects, her maternity shoot ahead of the arrival of her beautiful son.
Rosie is one of those models who is genuinely versatile — equally at home in a commercial brief as she is in something more fashion-led, whether that is on location or in a studio. She is an absolute joy to photograph, and that ease and warmth comes through in every single frame.
Shoot Summary
This editorial was designed to showcase versatility within a simple concept. By working through subtle changes in styling, pose and composition, we created a collection of images that feel cohesive while still offering variety.
